Our metro line, whose speed will be 80 kilometers per hour, will have the capacity to serve 330 thousand passengers in one day when it is first opened.Minister Karaismailoğlu said, "With this precious project, we will create an important alternative to road transportation between Gebze Organized Industrial Zone and Gebze-Darıca districts. Our Gebze OSB-Darıca Beach metro line will also be connected to Marmaray at the Gar Station. When our line is completed, 28 units will operate. We signed the vehicle purchase contract on July 22, 2020. With the commissioning of our Gebze OSB-Darıca Sahil metro line, we anticipate that the economic gain arising from fuel, time and environmental effects will be 27.3 billion liras in the 25 years between 2023 and 2048."Declaring that they have made 26 percent progress in the construction of the metro line as of today, Minister Karaismailoğlu said:"In today's program on our Gebze OSB-Darıca Sahil metro line, we will start the excavation with the first TBM machine in the direction of Gebze Station from Darıca Beach Station. This first machine will reach Gebze Station Station by moving 3 thousand 400 meters. The second TBM machine will also start excavation at the beginning of August. Both machines will have completed their excavations in the first half of 2022.
