NEW YORK – Launched in May, Mickey’s online lumber marketplace provides a platform for furniture manufacturers to purchase and trade lumber and plywood.

Now, after merging with competitor MaterialsXchange, the marketplace will expand its product footprint, now offering OSB and softwood products.

“Today is a momentous day for Mickey,” said Alex Rabens, Mickey co-founder and CEO. “MaterialsXchange has spent the last few years developing an amazing front-end platform that has served the lumber industry well. Combining their experienced team and platform with our back-end technology, we have created a true, end-to-end solution for the lumber market, as well as other commodities in the long-term.”

Through the platform, which launched in May, buyers can access live, real-time inventories and check out with a completely automated fulfillment process, Mickey says. Mickey handles the entire process, including the marketing, payment, logistics, and shipment of orders.

Orders can be placed for delivery within one to 30 days depending on buyer demand and supplier availability. Expected delivery times will be around one to five days depending on buyer and supplier proximity, and currently Mickey can only ship within the continental U.S.

Buyers are able to search for a product and get an instant quote. All listed inventory is live.

For suppliers, the company utilizes data from tech-enabled logistics partners that links in real-time to their API. They’ll get an all-in delivered trucking rate from any two points in the country. Suppliers will get an all-in delivered per 1,000 rate for a truckload of lumber.
