About the Crayon Project The Crayon Project was born one night when Bryan Ware and his family were out for dinner. As his children sit on the menu and paint colors, Bryan can't help but wonder where the crayons in the restaurant will go when everyone goes home. Facts have proved that this is a landfill-creating a large wax mud that will never biodegrade. why? Bryan thought, can't they be redesigned to create more happiness in the world? He took the crayons home and started busy-studying the art of collecting and sorting old crayons, melting them, and remanufacturing them into a bright, clean, paperless form. After consulting with an occupational therapist, he even designed a unique design for his new crayons-large triangles instead of circles-so they are easy for children to grasp and cannot roll off the hospital tray . Finally, he established a network to send crayons to children in hospitals across the country for free. Our mission is to bring happiness to children facing the pressure of hospitalization and give them the freedom of creative play.
